The application for our 2010-2011 project year will be online soon! The project next year will focus on Expansion, Reform, the Civil War, and Reconstruction. There are several exciting changes for next year:
-The application will be online instead of paper.
-The program kickoff will be at a local historic site right before teacher workdays begin.
-We will have one content instructor for the fall semester and one for the spring to make the information flow from one session to the next.
-Our content experts for next year will be Dr. Monica Gisolfi and Dr. Chris Fonvielle, both from UNCW.
-We are planning a Summer Institute in Charleston June 20-23, 2011.
-In addition to online discussion led by Dr. Gisolfi and Dr. Fonvielle, we will have face-to-face Professional Learning Communities that will meet once a month at a time and location of your choice.
-We will still offer 120 hours of contact time (12 full CEUs if you attend all events).
-You can choose the $1000 stipend or get graduate credit if you prefer.
-We are also looking into the following possibilities: netbooks for teacher use during the project year, an elementary pedagogy instructor, and mini-grants.
